One of the original purposes of The Worshipful Company of Pewterers was for mutual help and charitable work; today the Company awards educational grants and supports a range of charitable causes through three Charitable Trusts: The 500th Anniversary Trust, The Seahorse Trust and The Pewter Industry Charity.
500th Anniversary Trust
Our major financial commitment is through The 500th Anniversary Trust, which supports a Research Fellow at the Institute of Neurology working on brain disorders, specifically their relationship with heavy metals. Link to Stephanie Schorge

The Master’s Charity (nominated annually)
The Company makes its charitable support for education both practical and financial. It was one of the original founders of City and Guilds and continues to give support and provide a member of Council. It also provides a Court member for City University. We also give bursaries for students in need at Dulwich College, City of London School and City of London School for Girls. As a strong supporter of Livery Schools Link, we are both financially and actively involved with a primary school in Islington and provide volunteers for special educational projects in needy schools in the boroughs surrounding the City.
Charities which have recently received support from The Seahorse Trust include: The Prince’s Trust; Whirlow Hall Farm Trust; ; Canterbury Care Centre; Seven Springs Foundation; Mill Hill Youth Club and The Bethnal Green Disaster Memorial.
The Pewter Industry Charity
This charity funds a variety of small projects of practical value to student and young working pewterers.
